The first thing to do is download the pdf. This downloads on your system and you can then load it onto your pdf reader. You can also download it onto a smartphone or tablet device if you prefer to use those as an ebook reader, but for this article we will assume that you are using the computer. Downloading directly to your pdf reader is by far the most convenient way. You can also open the link with any browser on your computer and it will download onto your desktop. Now you have the document open, you might want to select some text. You can highlight all or some of it or just use your mouse to select out a portion of the text. For this example we will highlight the first section of text before where I inserted my notes in red type. We will call this section one. To do that simply click with your mouse on Section 1 and then hold down your left mouse button while dragging it over that section. Your browser will make a selection on your screen. You can see how this works in the following screen shot. Using the tool on your computer you can select the first paragraph of the first section of text, but it is possible on your smartphone or tablet as well. The only difference is that you cannot highlight every single detail that you see within that paragraph, but you can highlight more or less of what you want to highlight. We are going to select our text wherever it says "37" using our right mouse button. Then holding down your left mouse button while dragging over Section 1 highlights all of its text--just like selecting all with a left click and clicking on something with the right click button. Now you can get to work on your illustrations. There are several ways that you can get started. You could highlight all of the text in the document and then use your mouse to delete the highlighted text. This would leave behind all of the words, but it would take away all of the formatting like italics, underlines, boldface and so on. You could also highlight your specific idea or concept by clicking on it with your mouse while holding down your right mouse button. Once you have highlighted what you want to keep then just release that button while still holding down other. This will highlight everything within that section including all of the text in front of it or after it, anything that follows including captions or even sections after other sections. It will even highlight the lines of text before and after that one that you select. For this we just need to highlight everything within the first section and then copy and paste it into a new document. The easiest way to do that is on your computer. Just hold down your left mouse button while dragging over all of the sections you want to move; use the right mouse button to select all of its text; make sure there is nothing selected (use your right mouse button if there isn't anything selected already); use the Delete key on your keyboard (or use your right mouse button and then click on delete) and it will all be deleted. eccc085e13
